About the Course
In this class, we will be learning various styles of jazz from Fosse, Giordano, to American Modern Jazz. We will emphasize on jazz technique as well. Let's gets your jazz hands and shimmy all the way!
Your Instructor
Mr. Rad
Radhanath Thialan is an all rounded choreographer and facilitator in dance currently based in California. He holds an MFA in Dance from UC, Irvine where he was offered full scholarship for the two year program. Rad’s choreography have been said thought provoking, and often revolves the theme of life and culture. His works have premiered internationally in Malaysia, Singapore, China, Canada, and the US. During his dancing years, he have performed works by Kolben Dance Company and Vertigo Dance Company in Israel, Lar Lubovitch, and worked closely with SiZheng Wang, choreographer from National Ballet of China. Rad was one of Yaya Zhang’s performer at Pacific Symphony’s New Year event – Love Feast in 2017 and has been working closely with Yaya since. They have been choreographing together since 2018 for this event. Their choreography “Happy Valley” was also invited to perform at YAGP’s final in Tampa, Florida in 2021. Rad is also currently the Associates Artistic Director of Yaya Dance Academy and Social Media Coordinator with San Musae Cultural Center.
As an Instructor, Rad loves to share his passion in his classes and finds ways to help students look and feel good about themselves dancing. His main goal as an instructor is to allow his students to find themselves through dance, and have the ability to apply what they learn from dance in their daily lives. He strongly believes that everything learnt in dance is applicable to live, from the art of seeing to health benefits, discipline, and awareness. Rad always carefully select his music for his combinations and usually leaves an impression for his students with his music selection.
